CEVA LOGISTICS – LOGISTICS OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR (INLAND CONTAINER DEPOT – ICD)
Job Overview
CEVA Logistics is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor – Inland Container Depot (ICD) to lead and optimize depot operations in Uganda. The role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across container handling, yard management, cargo dispatch, compliance, and customer service delivery.
The successful candidate will ensure efficient ICD performance through strong leadership, process optimization, regulatory compliance, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, while driving cost efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operational Management
  • Lead end-to-end ICD operations including container handling, verification, yard management, gate operations, documentation flow, and dispatch.
  • Ensure smooth inbound and outbound cargo movement.
  • Optimize yard planning, container stacking, space utilization, and equipment deployment.
  • Improve turnaround times while maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure efficient use of equipment, facilities, and workforce while minimizing operational costs.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop ICD staff through performance management systems.
  • Allocate responsibilities and ensure accountability across operational teams.
  • Coordinate with URA, UNBS, CROP, and other regulatory bodies for timely cargo clearance.
Commercial & Customer Service Support
  • Align ICD capabilities with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Work closely with commercial and customer service teams to deliver logistics solutions.
  • Manage customer performance metrics and resolve service escalations.
  • Identify opportunities for value-added services and operational improvements.
  • Support business growth through improved throughput and asset utilization.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments including customs, operations, security, and customer service.
  • Act as primary operational contact for external stakeholders including URA, UNBS, and partners.
  • Represent ICD operations in management reviews, audits, and stakeholder meetings.
Compliance, Safety & Security
  • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, CEVA policies, and local laws.
  • Maintain high safety and security standards across all ICD facilities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training, audits, and incident reporting.
  • Enforce effective gate control and cargo verification processes.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal control requirements.
Financial & Performance Management
  • Support ICD P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including dwell time, truck turnaround, yard utilization, productivity, and damage rates.
  • Drive cost optimization in labor, equipment, maintenance, and subcontracted services.
Reporting & Monitoring
  • Ensure accurate cargo tracking and reporting across all ICD operations.
  • Prepare operational and financial performance reports for management.
  • Provide timely updates on operational progress and issues.
  • Maintain accurate data in cargo tracking systems.
  • Communicate regulatory or procedural changes to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transport & Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICD or logistics depot operations.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
  • Strong experience in container handling, transport operations, and customs processes.

CEVA LOGISTICS – TBL OFFICER
Job Overview
CEVA Logistics is seeking a commercially driven and customer-focused TBL Officer to support the growth of its Transport & Beyond Logistics (TBL) business in Uganda. Reporting administratively to the GM CMA CGM Uganda Limited and functionally to the Cluster TBL Manager, the role is responsible for facilitating the conversion of eligible ocean shipments into TBL solutions, supporting customer engagement, and contributing to the achievement of targeted business growth objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with sales teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient logistics coordination, excellent customer service, and successful execution of TBL solutions while driving customer adoption and business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Import Operations
  • Send arrival notices to consignees in coordination with relevant internal teams.
  • Update Alternative Base Port information for each voyage and Bill of Lading before vessel arrival.
  • Request customers to submit mandatory SCT instructions.
  • Provide regular shipment status updates to customers.
  • Ensure CAR 50 charges and additional collect charges are invoiced appropriately.
  • Coordinate with the Kenya TBL team to confirm charge collection before shipment release.
  • Follow up on container movement updates, arrival dates, and offloading schedules.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support weekly import conversion targets.
Export Operations
  • Coordinate export bookings after confirmation of rates by the sales team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for TBL shippers and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Arrange shunting activities to avoid delays in collecting empty containers from depots.
  • Coordinate last-mile transportation and export clearance with the Kenya TBL team.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure timely submission of accurate shipping documentation.
  • Ensure containers are linked to the correct bookings.
  • Share draft Bills of Lading with customers and ensure all TBL charges are settled before release.
  • Conduct regular visits to Inland Container Depots (ICDs) and depots to monitor TBL operations.
  • Participate in customer visits alongside the sales team to build and strengthen business relationships.
Market Intelligence & Business Development
  • Provide weekly customer feedback to improve pricing strategies and service delivery.
  • Gather market intelligence on pricing trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance TBL service offerings and customer value propositions.
  • Support sales enablement initiatives and customer acquisition efforts.
  • Participate in projects and assignments as directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Shipping, Commerce, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in sales, logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience in customer relationship management and commercial logistics operations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of maritime trade, international logistics, and transportation operations is an added advantage.

CEVA LOGISTICS – CUSTOMER SERVICE ADMINISTRATOR
Job Overview
CEVA Logistics is seeking an experienced Customer Service Administrator to be based in Kasese as an in-plant resource for its client, Hima Cement. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and managing logistics and customer service activities while ensuring timely cargo clearance, delivery, and exceptional client service. The successful candidate will maintain compliance with CEVA Logistics procedures and customer requirements while supporting efficient logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Document & File Management
  • Receive original shipping documents for commencement of clearance and file opening.
  • Crosscheck and confirm that applicable quotations are valid and signed by the client.
  • Assess required documentation immediately upon receipt to avoid clearance delays.
  • Ensure all relevant letters for sensitive cargo are requested, followed up, and received on time.
  • Open files accurately in Cargo Wise and TMS within six (6) hours of receiving shipping documents or pre-alerts.
  • Forward files to the Declarations Department within two days of receipt for verification and clearance preparation.
  • Identify and communicate any discrepancies or missing documents to clients within the required timeframe.
  • Ensure shipping documents are accurate and complete before forwarding for clearance.
  • Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) is available on all transport files before closure.
  • Close files within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, correspondence, and records for every file.
Progress Tracking & Management
  • Follow up on transport and customs clearance progress and update cargo tracking systems and physical files daily.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure effective handling of client accounts.
  • Confirm demurrage applicability and ensure prompt invoicing where necessary.
Communication & Customer Service
  • Keep clients informed about transport and customs clearance progress through formal communication channels.
  • Send status reports to clients at least three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).
  • Notify clients promptly of payments required before shipment release.
  • Communicate extra charges or confirmations from sister companies within four hours of receipt.
  • Report any cargo loss or damage to clients under the guidance of the Legal Team within 12 hours of the incident.
  • Provide clients with operational advice on customs clearance procedures and industry requirements.
Invoice Management
  • Prepare and dispatch invoices with supporting shipping and clearance documents within 48 hours.
  • Process incoming third-party invoices in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all invoices submitted, including client references and purchase order details.
Client Engagement
  • Schedule and conduct monthly client visits.
  • Meet a minimum of five (5) clients each month.
  • Submit client visit reports to the Customer Service Supervisor within 48 hours.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication and updates.
  • Conduct monthly customer satisfaction surveys and maintain a minimum satisfaction score of 4.0.
Debt Collection Support
