JOB PURPOSE
The Sales and Development Manager will lead the strategic development and performance management of RwandAir’s sales activities within the assigned market.
The role is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales execution, agent relationship management, business development initiatives, market expansion support, and sales performance optimization. The position also supports onboarding, training, and development of sales teams and commercial partners.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company revenue goals and market priorities.
• Support Country Managers and Regional Managers in achieving commercial performance objectives.
• Coordinate global and regional sales campaigns and ensure effective local execution.
• Identify underperforming routes and markets and implement market-specific recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with Sales Systems and Business Intelligence teams to develop dashboards and reporting tools for pipeline management and conversion tracking.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare business cases for new General Sales Agent (GSA) appointments and sales office expansions.
• Lead special commercial projects including:
  • New route launches
  • Corporate customer onboarding initiatives
  • Sales incentive program enhancements
  • Market expansion activities
• Work closely with Pricing, Revenue Management, and Channel Management teams to align commercial offers with market requirements.
• Prepare sales development reports, forecasts, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations for senior management and executive leadership.
Operational Responsibilities
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Sales Managers, Sales Executives, and General Sales Agents (GSAs).
• Develop sales training materials, operational manuals, and performance evaluation frameworks.
• Conduct regular market visits and operational reviews to ensure commercial alignment and performance.
• Monitor and report on:
  • Sales pipeline performance
  • B2B sales trends
  • B2C sales performance
  • Agent productivity
  • Ticket office performance
• Support implementation of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and digital sales tools.
• Assist in driving adoption of innovative sales technologies and commercial systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Business Administration
  • Marketing
  • Aviation Management

  • Related Business Discipline
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in:
  • Airline Sales
  • Commercial Operations
  • Business Development
  • Aviation Marketing
• At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Proven experience developing and implementing strategic sales plans that deliver revenue growth.
• Experience managing multi-market sales operations, sales teams, GSAs, or ticket offices.
• Strong background in B2B and B2C sales management.
• Experience in route development and network growth initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with:

• Experience in recruitment, coaching, training, and performance management.
• Familiarity with airline commercial systems and digital sales platforms.
