Job Title: MDR-TB Coordinator

Number of Positions: One (1)
Reports to: Assistant Commissioner, Tuberculosis & Leprosy Control
Engagement Terms: 2-year renewable contract
Job Purpose
The MDR-TB Coordinator will provide technical leadership and coordination in planning and implementation of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) activities across all levels of the health system.
The role ensures effective supervision of health workers involved in MDR-TB surveillance, capacity building of TB health teams and implementing partners, and strengthening community mobilization and sensitization for MDR-TB prevention and patient management.
The Coordinator will also support Programmatic Management of Drug-resistant TB (PMDT), organize Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings, review national guidelines, and lead surveillance, operational research, and strategy development for MDR-TB control.
Person/Job Specifications
A. Qualifications
Applicants should be Ugandans holding:
  • MBChB Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution
  • Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Health, Health Services Management, or any medical specialization
  • Certificate in TB management is an added advantage
B. Experience
  • At least six (6) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years at Senior Medical Officer level or equivalent
  • Proven experience in DR-TB units, treatment, care, and program management within public health or NGO settings
  • Current registration with relevant professional bodies
