Sales Manager – Concrete Admixtures
LOCATION
Kampala, Uganda (with extensive travel across Uganda)
REPORTING TO
General Manager / Country Manager
JOB PURPOSE
The Sales Manager – Concrete Admixtures is responsible for driving business growth and market expansion of concrete admixture products in Uganda. The role focuses on technical sales, project specification, key account management, and strategic business development within the construction and infrastructure sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & PROJECT SALES
  • Develop and grow the concrete admixtures business in Uganda.
  • Identify and pursue infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through engagement with contractors, consultants, and government stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with batching plants, ready-mix producers, EPC contractors, and developers.
  • Promote value-based solutions that improve concrete performance, durability, and cost efficiency.
READY-MIX & CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with ready-mix concrete producers and contractors.
  • Support clients in optimizing concrete mix designs and production processes.
  • Promote advanced admixture technologies (e.g., superplasticisers, accelerators, retarders, waterproofing agents, fibres).
  • Support infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, railways, and industrial developments.
  • Assist pre-cast manufacturers with tailored technical solutions.
TECHNICAL SALES & SPECIFICATION SUPPORT
  • Conduct technical presentations, workshops, and seminars on concrete technology.
  • Work with consultants and engineers to secure product specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance on mix design, workability, durability, and performance issues.
  • Coordinate laboratory trials and product testing with customers.
  • Troubleshoot concrete-related challenges such as cracking, slump loss, and setting time issues.
COMMERCIAL & TENDER MANAGEMENT
  • Monitor tenders, project opportunities, and market developments.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, pricing structures, and supply agreements.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure sales margins, pricing, and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Follow up on quotations and project approvals to ensure conversion.
KEY ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
  • Manage strategic accounts including ready-mix companies, contractors, and developers.
  • Build long-term partnerships to ensure repeat business and preferred supplier status.
  • Provide continuous technical and commercial support during project execution.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
COORDINATION & INTERNAL COLLABORATION
  • Work closely with technical, laboratory, logistics, finance, and operations teams.
  • Ensure timely product availability and delivery coordination.
  • Support training of distributors, customers, and internal sales teams.
  • Assist in product launches and market development initiatives.
MARKET INTELLIGENCE & REPORTING
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing strategies, and market trends.
  • Track construction and infrastructure developments in Uganda.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for market growth and expansion.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in concrete admixtures, ready-mix concrete, cement, or construction chemicals.
  • Strong background in technical sales and project-based selling.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, and infrastructure developers in Uganda.
