POSITION TITLE
Agency Development Executive
REPORTING TO
Head of Agency Development – Prudential Assurance Uganda (PAUL)
JOB PURPOSE
The Agency Development Executive is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing insurance agents to achieve sales and performance targets. The role focuses on growing agent productivity, improving business quality, increasing premium income, and building strong agency leadership pipelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
AGENT COACHING & PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT
  • Coach and mentor agents to achieve set business and sales targets.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions for underperforming team leaders.
  • Develop agents into team leaders and support their progression into agency supervisors.
  • Strengthen leadership capacity within agency teams.
SALES & BUSINESS GROWTH
  • Drive achievement of key performance metrics including:
    • New business acquisition
    • Premium income targets
    • Average income per agent
    • Product mix optimization
    • Agent activity and manpower growth
  • Support agents in expanding market reach and opening new sales opportunities.
  • Promote growth in agent earnings, including development of “millionaire” agents.
QUALITY & COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Promote a culture of quality business and long-term customer value.
  • Improve policy persistency and reduce lapses.
  • Enforce agency standards, discipline, and ethical sales practices.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
  • Identify and nurture high-potential agents into leadership roles.
  • Support succession planning within agency structures.
  • Build strong, high-performing agency teams.
REPORTING & PERFORMANCE MONITORING
  • Prepare weekly reports on key performance indicators across teams and branches.
  • Track agent performance and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Monitor progress against business targets and recommend corrective actions.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
  • Work closely with agency supervisors and branch teams.
  • Collaborate with management to improve agency operations and performance.
  • Provide feedback on field challenges and opportunities.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience in insurance sales, agency management, or financial services is an advantage.
  • Strong background in team leadership, coaching, or sales development is preferred.
  • Understanding of insurance products and agency distribution models is beneficial.
