PRIMARY LOCATION
Port Bell Brewery, Uganda
JOB PURPOSE
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving statistical demand forecasts to support the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The role ensures accurate forecasting, strong data integrity, and alignment between supply chain, sales, and business planning functions to optimize product availability and business performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DEMAND FORECASTING
  • Generate and maintain an 18-month rolling baseline statistical demand forecast.
  • Own and manage statistical forecasting models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, deviations, and trends against shipment and depletion data.
SYSTEMS & DATA MANAGEMENT
  • Use SAP APO as the primary forecasting tool.
  • Maintain system integrity including master data, CVC creation, and forecasting parameters.
  • Ensure data accuracy for SKU/location-level forecasting.
ANALYTICS & MODEL OPTIMIZATION
  • Optimize statistical forecasting models by selecting best-fit parameters.
  • Analyze outliers and correct forecasting anomalies.
  • Continuously improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias.
COLLABORATION & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
  • Partner with Demand Business Partners and Demand Managers to refine forecasts.
  • Support scenario planning for promotions, innovations, and market changes.
  • Participate in S&OP/IBP meetings and consensus forecasting processes.
FORECAST IMPROVEMENT & REPORTING
  • Conduct root cause analysis for forecast errors.
  • Provide insights, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Track and improve forecast accuracy and performance metrics.
STRATEGIC PLANNING SUPPORT
  • Validate long-term planning and AOP assumptions using historical data.
  • Support business planning decisions using statistical insights.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain planning.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, or forecasting.
  • Experience in FMCG/consumer packaged goods industry is preferred.
  • Experience using SAP APO or similar advanced planning systems.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning processes (demand, supply, inventory, logistics).
TECHNICAL SKILLS

POSITION TITLE
Shopper Marketer (Premium Spirits / Category Focus)
FUNCTION OVERVIEW
The Shopper Marketing team builds strong relationships that bring products to life by partnering with customers across markets, channels, and occasions. The role ensures brands are present at the “moment of choice” through impactful in-store and on-trade experiences.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Shopper Marketer acts as the bridge between brand marketing and customer marketing by translating brand strategy into effective shopper and in-store activation programs. The role focuses on driving physical availability, shopper insights, premiumisation, and category growth across retail and bar environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
SHOPPER MARKETING & TRADE ACTIVATION
  • Develop and implement shopper marketing programs across retail (off-trade) and bar/on-trade channels.
  • Design in-store and in-outlet brand activation programs from concept to execution and evaluation.
  • Create shopper experiences that influence purchase decisions at the point of sale.
CHANNEL MARKETING & PROMOTIONS
  • Design and execute channel-specific marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to develop POS materials and activation tools.
  • Measure effectiveness of campaigns and optimize based on ROI performance.
COMMERCIAL & CATEGORY GROWTH
  • Drive category growth and brand performance ahead of market trends.
  • Own budget planning and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Support sales targets, forecasting, and distribution performance.
DISTRIBUTION & MARKET DEVELOPMENT
  • Optimize distribution strategies to improve availability, visibility, and shelf presence.
  • Identify opportunities for market expansion and channel optimization.
  • Monitor distribution performance and recommend improvements.
MARKET RESEARCH & INSIGHTS
  • Conduct competitor analysis, shopper research, and market trend analysis.
  • Use data insights to identify growth opportunities and innovation areas.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and consumer behavior shifts.
STAKEHOLDER & AGENCY MANAGEMENT
  • Lead below-the-line (BTL) agencies to deliver high-quality activations and POS materials.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Brand, and Supply Chain teams to align execution plans.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
BUDGET & GOVERNANCE
  • Manage shopper marketing budgets and ensure efficient spend.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, governance, and execution guidelines.
  • Track and report on campaign performance and effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (Postgraduate is an advantage).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG commercial, sales, or customer marketing roles.
  • Strong background in field sales, trade marketing, or customer marketing execution.
  • Experience in BTL marketing and agency management.
  • Strong understanding of FMCG retail and on-trade environments.
