JOB VACANCY: TRAINING OFFICER
ORGANIZATION

JOB LOCATION
Kampala, Uganda (with frequent field travel across the country)
JOB SUMMARY
The Training Officer will design, coordinate, and deliver training programs that build capacity for customers, field agents, community stakeholders, and partners. The role supports the company’s mission of expanding access to solar energy by ensuring effective knowledge transfer and practical skills development at community level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. TRAINING DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
  • Develop training curricula, facilitator guides, and learning materials
  • Design content for products, services, and field programs
  • Adapt training for low-literacy and rural audiences
2. TRAINING DELIVERY & FACILITATION
  • Facilitate training sessions for customers, agents, and partners
  • Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) programs
  • Support onboarding and product training for field agents
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive learning sessions
3. TRAINING NEEDS ASSESSMENT
  • Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA)
  • Develop training plans based on field requirements
  • Align training with business and program goals
4. LOGISTICS & COORDINATION
  • Plan training schedules and venues
  • Manage participant communication and logistics
  • Ensure availability of training materials and equipment
5. MONITORING & EVALUATION
  • Evaluate training effectiveness (pre/post assessments)
  • Collect feedback and field observations
  • Prepare training reports and recommendations
  • Track KPIs and training performance
6. STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION
  • Work with Sales, Customer Experience, and Program teams
  • Align training with field operations and product updates
  • Support continuous improvement of training content
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
  • Number of training sessions delivered on schedule
  • Improvement in participant knowledge (pre vs post tests)
  • Training coverage across agents and communities
  • Timely submission of training reports
  • Customer satisfaction and product knowledge levels
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in training or capacity building
  • Experience in curriculum design and facilitation
KEY SKILLS
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Training curriculum development
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to work in field environments and travel frequently
ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in PAYG solar or renewable energy sector
  • Knowledge of participatory learning approaches (PLA, PRA, REFLECT)
  • Experience in Training of Trainers (ToT) programs
