On behalf of its client SINOPEC, Q-Sourcing Servtec is recruiting a qualified professional for the following role:
POSITION TITLE
NDT Coordinator (QSSU-SINOPEC-NDTC)
JOB OVERVIEW
The NDT Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and ensuring effective implementation of all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities across pipeline and piping projects in Uganda. The role requires strong technical expertise in NDT methods, QA/QC systems, and international pipeline standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and support Quality Plans and QA/QC documentation before construction works begin
  • Monitor and witness all site NDT inspections and testing activities
  • Plan and coordinate all NDT workflows to ensure compliance with project standards
  • Review and verify NDT procedures, qualifications, and technical requirements
  • Supervise advanced NDT methods including PAUT and TOFD inspections
  • Interpret radiographic films for welds in pipelines and piping systems
  • Ensure calibration and compliance of NDT equipment and consumables
  • Approve NDT reports, documentation, and personnel qualifications
  • Conduct audits of subcontracted NDT activities
  • Track inspection requests and ensure timely reporting
  • Serve as the main technical focal point for all NDT matters
  • Support budgeting, cost control, and technical reporting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid ISO Level III NDT certification (RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in pipeline and piping NDT operations
  • Strong knowledge of international NDT codes and standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills

POSITION TITLE
Coating and Painting Inspector (QSSU-SINOPEC-CPI)
JOB OVERVIEW
The Coating and Painting Inspector will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring quality compliance of all coating, painting, blasting, and insulation activities at site in line with approved QA/QC plans, ITPs, and international oil and gas standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in preparing Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and QA/QC documentation
  • Monitor and witness all coating, painting, and insulation activities on site
  • Review approved procedures and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Record and report all inspection activities as per ITP requirements
  • Conduct inspections for yard and field coating works
  • Verify calibration status of inspection equipment
  • Raise RFIs to client inspection teams through project management
  • Inspect field joint coating and insulation works
  • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of foreign materials before application
  • Verify welding completion before coating activities
  • Check coating thickness, uniformity, and material compliance
  • Ensure insulation joints are properly aligned, tight, and weatherproofed
  • Inspect blasting, painting, and insulation on structures, piping, tanks, and equipment
  • Participate in vendor inspections and third-party verification
  • Support documentation and internal QA/QC audits
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Telecom Engineering
  • OR certified professional qualifications such as:
    • CSWIP-BGAS Level 1
    • NACE Level 3
    • FROSIO Level 3
    • AMPP CIP Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Additional insulation certification (AMPP Level 2 or equivalent preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of international oil and gas standards and safety regulations
  • Experience in multi-discipline construction environments
Skills
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and specifications
  • Excellent QA/QC and inspection knowledge
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams
  • Fluent English (mandatory)

POSITION TITLE
EIT Inspector (Electrical, Instrumentation & Telecoms Inspector)
JOB OVERVIEW
The EIT Inspector will support inspection activities on Oilfield Gathering Pipelines and WellPad Areas, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and international engineering codes for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support inspection activities for Oilfield Gathering Pipeline and WellPad installations
  • Ensure compliance with company and project specifications and procedures
  • Conduct visual, close, and detailed inspections in line with IEC 60079-17
  • Ensure compliance with Ex certification requirements and plant safety procedures
  • Identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain hazardous area equipment registers and inspection reports
  • Verify integrity of cable glands, enclosures, earthing, and sealing systems
  • Provide guidance and training to technicians on Ex installation and maintenance
  • Support installation, testing, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning tests
  • Witness vendor site activities when required
  • Ensure strict compliance with engineering design and specifications
  • Liaise with QA/QC and other disciplines to resolve quality issues
  • Ensure HSE compliance and environmental protection standards are followed
  • Participate in project meetings (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Prepare discipline reports for management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Telecom Engineering
  • OR equivalent technical qualification
  • CompEx Certification (Ex01–Ex04) or IECEx CoPC certification (mandatory)
Experience
  • 5–10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas construction projects
  • Minimum 3 years working as an Ex Inspector
  • Strong knowledge of international oil & gas standards and safety regulations
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • IEC 60079-14 (Installation)
    • IEC 60079-17 (Inspection & Maintenance)
    • ATEX / IECEx systems
  • Understanding of hazardous area classification and Ex protection concepts
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and Ex equipment datasheets
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills (HA registers, audit reports)
  • High attention to detail and safety compliance
SOFT SKILLS

POSITION TITLE
Welding Inspector (QSSU-SINOPEC-WI)
JOB OVERVIEW
The Welding Inspector will be responsible for supervising, witnessing, and ensuring quality compliance of all welding and fabrication activities at site in accordance with approved QA/QC procedures, ITPs, project specifications, and international oil and gas standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in preparing Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and QA/QC documentation
  • Witness and monitor welding activities, inspections, and testing on site
  • Ensure compliance with approved quality procedures and project specifications
  • Promote quality awareness, continuous improvement, and corrective actions
  • Verify implementation of PTW (Permit to Work) and safety procedures
  • Conduct site inspections in line with project quality standards
  • Produce daily reports on welding and fabrication activities
  • Ensure welders follow up-to-date codes, standards, and engineering drawings
  • Coordinate with Quality Managers, Engineers, and other inspectors
  • Inspect mechanical, piping, structural, and welding works
  • Review material certificates for compliance with specifications
  • Ensure calibration of welding and NDE equipment is valid and up to date
  • Monitor storage and handling of welding consumables
  • Witness material receiving inspections and in-process inspections

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Telecom Engineering
  • OR professional welding certification such as:
    • CSWIP 3.1
    • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes, QA/QC systems, and inspection procedures
  • Experience working in multi-discipline engineering environments
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and welding-related codes and standards
  • Familiarity with TOTAL E&P or similar oil & gas specifications
