Job Summary

The Statistician will support Twyford International Uganda’s Quality and Manufacturing teams by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting production and quality data to improve operational performance.
The successful candidate will use statistical methods to identify trends, measure quality performance, support decision-making, and provide insights that help reduce defects, improve production efficiency, and maintain international manufacturing standards.
The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, knowledge of statistical tools, and the ability to transform production data into meaningful business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Collection and Analysis
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing, production, and quality data.
  • Maintain accurate statistical records and databases.
  • Analyze production performance, defect rates, quality indicators, and operational trends.
  • Generate reports to support management decision-making.
  • Identify patterns and relationships within production data.
2. Quality Data Management
  • Support the Quality Team in monitoring product quality performance.
  • Analyze quality inspection results and production reports.
  • Track defects, errors, production losses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop statistical reports for quality assurance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data insights.
3. Statistical Reporting and Visualization
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports.
  • Present data findings using charts, graphs, dashboards, and visual reports.
  • Interpret complex data into clear recommendations for management.
  • Support production teams with accurate performance measurements.
4. Process Improvement Support
  • Use statistical analysis to identify areas for production improvement.
  • Support root cause analysis of quality problems.
  • Monitor improvement projects and measure results.
  • Assist departments in making data-driven decisions.
5. Data Accuracy and Compliance
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of collected data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Develop effective data collection methods and reporting systems.
  • Support quality audits through accurate statistical records.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Business Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in statistics, data analysis, quality management, manufacturing, or a related environment.
  • Experience working with production data or industrial statistics is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and reporting methods.
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and provide meaningful insights.
