Medical Doctor (Occupational Health & Emergency Physician Job in Uganda)

• Provide full-time general medical consultation for expatriate staff and dependents.
• Deliver emergency medical care and support evacuation activities in field operations.
• Manage occupational health services and clinical support for industrial sites.
• Ensure confidentiality of all medical and health records.

• Support field medical audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Remain on-call 24/7 for emergency medical response.
• Support evacuation procedures and remote site healthcare delivery.
• Supervise hygiene and health inspections at operational sites.

• Support the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), HSE, and HR teams on medical compliance and occupational health laws.
• Conduct health risk assessments using WHO, CDC, and international guidelines.
• Participate in development and review of medical procedures and emergency protocols.
• Contribute to medical dashboards and HSE reporting systems.

• Coordinate fitness-to-work certification for expatriate employees with HQ medical teams.
• Support medical budgeting, procurement of medical supplies, and inventory management.
• Develop and maintain a medical network of approved healthcare providers in Uganda.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating healthcare facilities for operational use.

• Organize and support medical awareness campaigns (wellness, disease prevention, annual checks).
• Support training programs on occupational health and emergency preparedness.
• Promote health and safety awareness across field operations.

• Act on behalf of the Chief Medical Officer when required.
• Develop cross-functional collaboration with HR, HSE, and operations teams.
• Participate in international and internal medical coordination activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB or equivalent).
• Certification in:
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Disaster Medicine
  • Traumatology
  • 
    

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in emergency medical leadership (Emergency Department).
• 5–8 years’ experience in clinical medicine and remote site healthcare.
• Proven experience in oil & gas remote field operations (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of occupational health medicine is an added advantage.
• 
  

• Strong understanding of medical hazards and risk management.
• Ability to work in remote and high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Strong cross-cultural management experience.
• Ability to operate within international medical standards (WHO, CDC).
• Fluent in English (French is an added advantage).
