About Uganda Tea Corporation Limited (UTCL)

Uganda Tea Corporation Limited (UTCL) is a leading tea production company located along the Kampala–Jinja Highway near Lugazi Municipal Council in Buikwe District, approximately 48 kilometres from Kampala City and 40 kilometres from Jinja, opposite Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga.
The company is primarily involved in tea production, with approximately 80% of its tea sales targeting the international market and 20% serving the local market. UTCL exports processed tea through the Mombasa Auction Market alongside other East African tea companies.
Beyond tea production, UTCL is also engaged in other agricultural activities including afforestation, coffee, cocoa, and banana production.
UTCL produces over 3.5 million kilograms of tea annually, contributing approximately 10% of Uganda’s national tea output.

Job Summary

Uganda Tea Corporation Limited (UTCL) is seeking a competent and experienced Security Supervisor to oversee daily security operations and ensure a safe and secure working environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising security personnel, investigating security incidents, identifying risks, implementing corrective actions, maintaining company boundaries, managing security records, and ensuring compliance with security procedures and management directives.
The Security Supervisor will work closely with the Security Manager to strengthen security operations and protect company assets, employees, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of security guards and ensure effective security operations.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and support security personnel to achieve high team performance.
  • Investigate security incidents and prepare detailed reports.
  • Identify security risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.
  • Conduct regular boundary inspections and report any cases of encroachment.
  • Maintain secure company boundaries and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Ensure compliance with security procedures, policies, and company regulations.
  • Maintain accurate security records, incident reports, and operational documentation.
  • Communicate management directives and ensure they are implemented by security teams.
  • Monitor security performance and recommend improvements.
  • Support enforcement of discipline and professional conduct among security staff.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Security Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess:
  • An A-Level Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a security role.
  • Experience as an ex-soldier or ex-police officer is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar security supervisory role.
  • Ability to enforce compliance and maintain discipline among security teams.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to use digital tools for security monitoring and reporting.
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
