AYFI is seeking passionate and committed Research Assistant Volunteers to support the planning and successful implementation of the High-Level Youth Dialogue with Policy-Makers Summit. This volunteer opportunity provides valuable experience in research, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, policy discussions, and youth leadership.

Job Summary

The Research Assistant Volunteer will support the planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of summit activities while working closely with a multidisciplinary team. The volunteer will contribute to research, communications, logistics, participant engagement, event documentation, reporting, and operational support before, during, and after the summit.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Research & Documentation
  • Conduct background research to support summit discussions and activities.
  • Assist in preparing research reports, briefing notes, and documentation.
  • Collect, organise, and analyse relevant information.
  • Support the preparation of event records and final reports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the summit.
Event Planning & Coordination
  • Support planning and implementation of summit activities.
  • Assist with event logistics and operational coordination.
  • Participate in volunteer orientation and training sessions.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Support smooth execution of conference activities.
Participant Support
  • Assist with participant registration and accreditation.
  • Provide information and guidance to delegates and guests.
  • Support speakers, facilitators, and event participants.
  • Help resolve participant inquiries professionally.
  • Ensure visitors receive quality customer service.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support communication before, during, and after the summit.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, staff, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings and communication activities.
  • Represent AYFI professionally throughout the event.
  • Promote positive engagement among participants.
Administrative Support
  • Assist with general administrative duties.
  • Maintain confidential information responsibly.
  • Prepare reports and administrative documentation.
  • Support scheduling and coordination activities.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Follow guidance from Volunteer Coordinators and Team Leaders.
  • Support different operational functions as required.
