Job Overview

Twyford International Uganda is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and quality-focused Quality System Supervisor to support the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the factory’s quality management system.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Quality Manager and Technical Department Manager to ensure compliance with quality standards, system procedures, production processes, and operational requirements.
The role involves supporting ISO 9001 quality management systems, internal audits, documentation control, corrective actions, process improvement, and quality awareness initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Job Summary

The Quality System Supervisor will support the development, implementation, and continuous optimization of the factory quality management system while ensuring that all departments comply with established quality procedures, operational standards, and documentation requirements.
The position will play an important role in maintaining quality consistency, improving production processes, supporting audits, and promoting a strong quality culture among employees.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System Development and Implementation
  • Establish and maintain the factory’s quality management system.
  • Promote quality awareness among employees across different departments.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in building, implementing, and continuously improving the factory quality system based on:
    • ISO 9001 standards
    • Quality management principles
    • Manufacturing best practices
  • Support implementation of quality procedures and operational controls.
  • Ensure departments understand and follow approved quality system requirements.

2. Quality Documentation Management

Support the Quality Manager and Technical Department Manager in preparing, reviewing, updating, and controlling quality system documents, including:
  • Quality manuals
  • Process documents
  • Work instructions
  • Record forms
  • Quality procedures
  • System-related documentation
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining proper document control systems.
  • Ensuring updated documents are available to relevant departments.
  • Reviewing documents for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Identifying outdated, unsuitable, or ineffective system documents.
  • Providing recommendations for improvement.

3. Quality Compliance and Process Standardization

  • Maintain effectiveness of the quality management system by ensuring departments comply with established procedures and standards.
  • Supervise adherence to production and quality processes.
  • Ensure operational activities follow approved standards.
  • Support process standardization across factory operations.
  • Monitor compliance with technical requirements and quality procedures.

4. Internal Audits and Factory Inspections

  • Organize regular internal audits and factory inspections.
  • Conduct on-site quality system audits.
  • Prepare audit reports and documentation.
  • Identify quality system gaps and non-conformities.
  • Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support departments in resolving audit findings.
  • Monitor effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

5. Quality Communication and Coordination

  • Communicate updated:
    • Quality system regulations
    • Technical parameters
    • Standards
    • Process requirements
to relevant departments.
  • Coordinate with production, technical, and operational teams to improve quality performance.
  • Support customer factory visits and quality audits.
  • Provide assistance during external inspections and assessments.

6. Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization

  • Assist the Quality Manager in process optimization initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the factory.
  • Participate in improvement projects aimed at:
    • Reducing quality issues
    • Improving efficiency
    • Enhancing production standards
  • Support periodic assessments of system and process performance.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen quality operations.

7. Reporting and Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate quality system records.
  • Prepare quality-related reports.
  • Monitor quality performance indicators.
  • Provide updates to management regarding system effectiveness.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education Requirements
Applicants should have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
    • Quality Management
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Production Engineering
    • Related field

Professional Experience

Candidates should have:
  • Proven experience in:
    • Quality Systems

within a manufacturing environment.
Experience should include:
