The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is a government agency responsible for the registration of businesses, companies, intellectual property, civil marriages, and legal documents in Uganda. URSB plays a vital role in promoting business formalization, improving the ease of doing business, and supporting economic growth through efficient registration services.
URSB is recruiting a Project Officer – TREP to support the implementation of the Tax Registration Expansion Programme (TREP) by working closely with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Local Governments, and the business community to promote business registration and formalization across Uganda.

Job Summary

The Project Officer – TREP will coordinate field implementation of TREP activities, conduct business sensitization campaigns, support mobile registration offices, provide technical guidance on business registration procedures, and assist entrepreneurs with business formalization services.
The successful candidate will work closely with government agencies and local authorities to increase access to business registration services while promoting compliance with Uganda's business registration requirements.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in business registration, customer service, community engagement, project implementation, public administration, business development, legal services, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

1. TREP Programme Implementation
  • Collaborate with URSB, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), and Local Governments to implement TREP activities.
  • Support implementation of business formalization initiatives across assigned areas.
  • Coordinate project activities in line with programme objectives.
  • Ensure successful delivery of outreach and registration services.
  • Monitor progress of project implementation activities.
2. Business Community Sensitization
  • Conduct awareness campaigns on business registration and formalization.
