SYBYL Uganda is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Product Manager to manage its IT hardware portfolio, strengthen OEM partnerships, support business growth, and drive revenue performance across the Ugandan market.

Job Summary

The Product Manager will be responsible for managing SYBYL’s IT hardware product portfolio, developing market strategies, supporting sales growth, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions to customers.
The successful candidate will oversee products including laptops, desktop computers, UPS systems, multifunction printers (MFPs), and entry-level servers while supporting corporate clients, tenders, and technology procurement opportunities.
This role requires a professional with strong knowledge of IT hardware, product management, tender processes, OEM engagement, and commercial sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Product Portfolio Management
The Product Manager will:
  • Manage and grow SYBYL’s IT hardware product portfolio.
  • Develop strategies for product positioning and market growth.
  • Manage product lifecycles from introduction to market expansion.
  • Monitor technology trends and customer requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for introducing new IT solutions.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of competing products and market pricing.
Products managed will include:
  • Laptops.
  • Desktop computers.
  • Workstations.
  • UPS systems.
  • Multifunction printers (MFPs).
  • Entry-level servers.
  • Related IT accessories and solutions.

2. Tender and RFQ Management

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage the complete tender and Request for Quotation (RFQ) process.
  • Review tender documents and technical requirements.
  • Analyse customer specifications and compliance requirements.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical write-ups and product compliance documents.
  • Develop accurate pricing proposals.
  • Coordinate bid submissions within deadlines.
  • Support successful tender execution.

3. OEM Partnership and Vendor Management

The successful candidate will:
  • Build and maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Coordinate product certifications and approvals.
  • Work with OEM partners to identify suitable solutions.
  • Support opportunity pre-registration to secure competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate product support and commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of OEM product offerings.

4. Business Development and Revenue Growth

Key duties include:
  • Engage directly with customers to understand technology needs.
  • Recommend appropriate IT hardware solutions.
  • Support achievement of sales revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with corporate clients.
  • Provide product demonstrations and consultations.
  • Track market opportunities and customer trends.

5. Device as a Service (DaaS) Solutions

The Product Manager will:
  • Support development of Device as a Service (DaaS) offerings.
  • Provide technical and commercial guidance on hardware subscription models.
  • Understand customer requirements for managed device solutions.
  • Develop solutions that improve customer productivity and reduce IT management challenges.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

Responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with sales teams.
  • Coordinate with procurement departments.
  • Support logistics and delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for implementation.
  • Ensure smooth order execution from customer request to delivery.
  • Resolve product-related challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in IT hardware, sales, or product management will be an added advantage.
