Prudential Uganda is seeking a proactive, analytical, and customer-focused Premium Collection Officer – Temp to support revenue collection processes and ensure effective management of outstanding premium payments.

Job Summary

The Premium Collection Officer will support the Operations Department in tracking billed revenue, managing premium collections, following up on failed direct debits, and ensuring maximum recovery of outstanding policy payments.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and customers to improve collection performance, reduce revenue leakage, and maintain accurate premium collection records.
The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven insurance environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Premium Collection Officer, the Premium Collection Officer will be responsible for monitoring collection activities, following up on unpaid premiums, supporting customer retention efforts, and ensuring that collection processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate should have experience in finance, accounting, insurance operations, customer service, or revenue management.

Key Responsibilities

Premium Collection Management
  • Track billed revenue and monitor premium payment performance.
  • Follow up on failed direct debit transactions and outstanding customer payments.
  • Support recovery of unpaid premiums and ensure timely collections.
  • Monitor policies that have not been taken up due to payment challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer accounts.
Revenue Monitoring and Reporting
  • Prepare collection reports and provide updates on outstanding payments.
  • Analyse premium collection trends and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Support revenue assurance activities to minimise collection gaps.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of collection processes.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding outstanding premium payments.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Address collection-related queries and provide timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams to improve payment performance.
Operational Support
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and accountability in all assigned tasks.
  • Support process improvements within the Operations department.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of working experience, with at least one year in a similar role.
  • Experience in premium collections, finance operations, customer service, banking, or insurance is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a commercial, digital, or multinational environment is desirable.
