About Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA)

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is a statutory government agency established under the PPDA Act Cap 205 to regulate public procurement and disposal practices across Uganda. The Authority develops procurement standards, promotes transparency, strengthens accountability, and oversees procurement activities for government ministries, local governments, state enterprises, constitutional bodies, statutory agencies, and public institutions.
PPDA is seeking a qualified and customer-focused Officer Customer Service to support front-office operations, stakeholder engagement, corporate communication, and public relations activities. The successful candidate will help create a positive public image of the Authority by delivering exceptional customer service through the front desk, telephone, online platforms, and stakeholder interactions.

Job Summary

The Officer Customer Service will promote a positive brand image of PPDA by providing excellent customer service and supporting stakeholder engagement, communication, and public relations initiatives.
The role involves assisting in implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, managing customer enquiries, supporting social media communication, preparing communication materials, coordinating stakeholder meetings, and ensuring effective internal and external communication.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Officer Customer Service and the Office of the Executive Director to strengthen relationships with stakeholders while maintaining high standards of professionalism and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service Delivery
  • Provide professional customer service at the PPDA front desk.
  • Respond to customer enquiries received through telephone, email, and online platforms.
  • Ensure visitors receive accurate information and are directed appropriately.
  • Promote a positive customer experience through courteous and timely service delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support implementation of the Authority's annual Public and Corporate Affairs Plan.
  • Assist in implementing stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with government institutions, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Support organisation of stakeholder meetings and engagement activities.
Public Relations and Corporate Communications
  • Assist in preparing newsletters, press statements, speeches, and newspaper articles.
  • Support Executive Management during public communication engagements.
  • Promote the Authority's corporate image through effective communication.
  • Support communication campaigns that enhance public awareness of PPDA activities.
Social Media and Digital Communication
  • Support management of PPDA's social media platforms.
  • Promote online visibility and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor social media interactions and support timely responses.
  • Assist in creating engaging digital communication content.
Research and Policy Support
  • Support monitoring of public policy developments affecting PPDA operations.
  • Assist in analysing stakeholder concerns and communication needs.
  • Contribute to preparation of communication reports and recommendations.
Administrative Support
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to customer service activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions.
  • Support departmental administrative activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Must Have
Bachelor's Degree with Honours
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in any recognised discipline.
Relevant Work Experience
At least one year of experience in customer service, communications, public relations, administration, stakeholder engagement, or a related field within a reputable organisation.
Excellent Communication Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders.
Customer Service Skills
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service while handling enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Organisational Skills
Strong planning, coordination, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
