Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise nutrition services in supported health facilities.
• Ensure nutrition clinics operate according to approved work plans.
• Coordinate community nutrition outreach activities.
• Promote integration of nutrition services with medical and primary healthcare services.
• Develop and implement staff duty rosters in collaboration with facility leadership.

• Coordinate malnutrition screening and growth monitoring activities.
• Ensure early identification and management of acute malnutrition cases.
• Support healthcare workers and community teams in implementing Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) guidelines.
• Monitor patient progress and ensure appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Promote child growth monitoring and nutrition surveillance.

• Provide technical guidance to nutrition staff and community health workers.
• Mentor healthcare teams on nutrition best practices.
• Strengthen staff capacity through coaching and continuous learning.
• Ensure direct reports have clear objectives and participate in professional development opportunities.

• Conduct health and nutrition education sessions for patients and caregivers.
• Promote proper infant and young child feeding practices.
• Educate families on balanced diets, food preparation, and nutrition at home.
• Carry out home visits to monitor discharged patients and reinforce nutrition advice.
• Encourage community participation in nutrition improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate nutrition service records.
• Consolidate reports from nutrition staff.
• Analyze nutrition data to support evidence-based program decisions.
• Prepare timely nutrition reports according to organizational reporting schedules.
• Participate in nutrition-related research activities that improve community health outcomes.

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of therapeutic foods and nutrition supplies.
• Prevent contamination of food and nutrition commodities.
• Ensure kitchens and food preparation areas remain clean and hygienic.
• Promote food hygiene and sanitation practices within healthcare facilities.

• Ensure nutrition services comply with Ministry of Health and Medical Teams International standards.
• Uphold professional ethics and organizational codes of conduct.
• Promote high-quality, patient-centered nutrition services.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all activities.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

• Promoting a safe and respectful environment for patients, staff, and community members.
• Preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
• Following safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.
• Protecting children and vulnerable adults.
• Demonstrating professional conduct at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or a related field from a recognized institution.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nutrition field experience implementing Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM).
• Experience coordinating nutrition activities within busy health programs.

• Experience in clinical medicine or community health.
• Experience working in emergency or humanitarian operations.
• Previous experience working with International NGOs (INGOs).
