Mota Engil Uganda is seeking a qualified Nurse to provide clinical support, emergency response, health monitoring, and workplace health promotion services within a construction project environment.

Job Summary

The Nurse will provide first aid and clinical care support to employees while promoting workplace health, safety, hygiene, and wellness.
The role involves managing medical records, responding to workplace emergencies, coordinating medical examinations, maintaining healthcare supplies, and supporting SHEQ initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care and First Aid Support
  • Provide first aid and basic clinical care to employees.
  • Assess employee health concerns and provide appropriate medical support.
  • Ensure all medical interventions are properly documented.
  • Follow up on employee medical cases where necessary.
  • Respond quickly to workplace injuries and medical emergencies.
Emergency Response and Referral Management
  • Provide immediate medical assistance during emergencies.
  • Coordinate ambulance services and hospital referrals when required.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities within the project site.
  • Maintain readiness of emergency medical equipment and supplies.
Medical Records Management
  • Maintain accurate employee medical records.
  • Document:
    • First aid cases.
    • Medical consultations.
    • Referrals.
    • Health incidents.
  • Prepare health reports for management and SHEQ reporting requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee medical information.
Employee Health Monitoring
  • Coordinate periodic medical check-ups for employees.
  • Support occupational health monitoring programmes.
  • Track workplace health trends and identify possible risks.
  • Provide health guidance and awareness to employees.
Workplace Health, Hygiene and Safety
  • Conduct workplace health and hygiene inspections.
  • Monitor sanitation conditions within the project environment.
  • Identify health hazards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Support compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Health Awareness and Training
  • Organize health education sessions for employees.
  • Conduct first aid and health awareness training.
  • Promote preventive health practices among staff.
  • Support SHEQ programmes focused on:
    • Health.
    • Safety.
    • Environment.
    • Quality improvement.
Medical Supplies Management
  • Manage medical supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels of essential healthcare materials.
  • Ensure first aid kits and medical equipment are available and functional.
  • Report shortages and arrange replenishment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Academic Qualifications
Applicants should have:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Professional Registration
Required:
  • Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Valid nursing license to practice.

Professional Experience

Candidates should have:
  • Minimum 3 years’ nursing experience.
