About Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment and evaluation of clients' health conditions.
• Deliver proper individualized, patient-centered care and treatment in line with Good Clinical Practices.
• Provide medical advice, health education, and counselling to patients and caregivers.
• Monitor disease progression and provide appropriate clinical management.
• Refer complicated cases to higher levels of care when necessary.

• Supporting implementation of comprehensive HIV care packages at health facilities according to set targets.
• Providing clinical support for HIV/AIDS clients and ART management.
• Monitoring treatment outcomes and ensuring quality HIV service delivery.
• Supporting adherence counselling and patient follow-up activities.

• Develop patient management plans for TB clients based on their TB status.
• Follow up TB patients until successful treatment outcomes are achieved.
• Ensure TB care is provided according to Good Clinical Practices and national guidelines.

• Preparing and submitting periodic activity work plans.
• Completing monthly timesheets.
• Preparing periodic reports for key stakeholders.
• Supporting health facility performance monitoring in line with targets.

• Participate as a member of the Quality Improvement (QI) team.
• Monitor implementation of QI projects at health facilities.
• Work with health facility in-charges to improve service delivery according to Ministry of Health guidelines.
• Provide technical support to three to four small-volume health facilities within the assigned catchment area.

• Preparing and presenting findings regarding critical cases during case conferences.
• Participating in health facility continuous medical education sessions.
• Contributing to continuous professional development among healthcare workers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or equivalent qualification.
• Active registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council.

Required Experience

• At least two (2) years of experience working in clinic or hospital-based services.
• Experience in HIV/AIDS care and ART management is an added advantage.
• Willingness to work and live in rural areas.

• Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and TB treatment programmes.
• Ability to provide health education and counselling.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Commitment to ethical healthcare practices.
• Ability to work effectively in rural health settings.
• Understanding of Good Clinical Practices and Ministry of Health guidelines.
