AYFI is seeking motivated and organised volunteers to support the successful planning and implementation of the High-Level Youth Dialogue with Policy-Makers Summit.

Job Summary

Africa Youth Forum International (AYFI) is looking for a Logistics Volunteer to support event preparation, coordination, and operational activities during the High-Level Youth Dialogue with Policy-Makers Summit.
The successful candidate will assist with logistics planning, venue preparation, participant support, materials management, coordination of event activities, and ensuring smooth operations throughout the summit.
This opportunity is suitable for individuals interested in logistics, event management, administration, operations, nonprofit work, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Event Logistics Support
  • Support the planning and coordination of summit logistics activities.
  • Assist with preparation of event venues, materials, and operational requirements.
  • Support arrangement and distribution of event materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist with movement and organisation of materials before, during, and after the summit.
  • Ensure assigned logistics tasks are completed on time.
Participant and Guest Support
  • Assist with participant registration and information services.
  • Provide guidance and support to delegates, speakers, guests, and participants.
  • Support smooth movement of attendees within event venues.
  • Respond professionally to participant requests and inquiries.
  • Work with other volunteers to ensure a positive participant experience.
Event Operations Coordination
  • Support the Volunteer Coordinator and event management team.
  • Assist with daily event operations and coordination activities.
  • Help monitor availability of required resources and supplies.
  • Support communication between logistics teams, organisers, and volunteers.
  • Assist in solving operational challenges during the summit.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Assist in maintaining records of logistics activities.
  • Support preparation of event reports and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Follow event procedures, safety guidelines, and organisational policies.
Teamwork and General Support
  • Participate in volunteer orientation, training sessions, and briefing meetings.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, speakers, partners, and delegates.
  • Maintain professional conduct and represent AYFI positively.
  • Perform other duties assigned to support successful summit delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree, or be a current student in a relevant field.
  • Interest in logistics, event management, youth leadership, governance, development, or nonprofit activities.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
