Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Develop learning materials suitable for open and distance education.
• Facilitate online and blended learning sessions.
• Conduct seminars, tutorials, and academic discussions.
• Support students through digital learning platforms.
• Set examinations, tests, and coursework assessments.
• Administer and invigilate examinations.
• Mark assignments, coursework, and examination scripts.
• Compile and submit students’ grades and academic results.
• Provide timely academic feedback to students.

• Design and improve e-learning content and resources.
• Support the implementation of digital teaching strategies.
• Apply modern digital pedagogy approaches in teaching.
• Develop learner-centred online education materials.
• Support students using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Promote effective use of educational technologies.
• Participate in innovation within open and distance learning programmes.

• Conduct high-quality research in Open Learning, Digital Pedagogy, Teacher Education, Curriculum Management, or related areas.
• Publish research findings in recognised academic journals.
• Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Participate in academic research projects.
• Contribute to knowledge development in education and technology-enhanced learning.

• Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
• Guiding students in research methodology and academic writing.
• Advising students on academic performance.
• Supporting students facing academic and non-academic challenges.
• Referring students requiring additional support to relevant university departments.

• Perform departmental administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department.
• Participate in curriculum review and development.
• Support quality assurance activities.
• Attend departmental and faculty meetings.
• Contribute to university policies and academic improvement initiatives.

• Participate in community outreach activities.
• Support education development initiatives.
• Share expertise in digital learning and education innovation.
• Contribute positively to society through professional service.

Required Qualifications

• An earned PhD in any of the following areas:
  • Teacher Education
  • E-Learning
  • Digital Pedagogy
  • Curriculum Management

• Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree.
• Master’s Degree in any of the following:
  • Teacher Education
  • E-Learning
  • Digital Pedagogy
  • Curriculum Management

Experience Requirements

• At least two (2) years teaching experience at the level of Assistant Lecturer from a recognised institution of higher learning.
• Demonstrated experience in academic teaching and research.
• A good record of public service and professional contribution.
