Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Develop teaching materials and academic resources.
• Conduct seminars, tutorials, and interactive learning sessions.
• Set tests, examinations, and coursework assessments.
• Administer and supervise examinations.
• Mark assignments, coursework, and examination scripts.
• Compile and submit students’ grades and academic results.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
• Support students in achieving their academic goals.

• Conduct high-quality research in Culture, Heritage Studies, and related disciplines.
• Develop research projects addressing cultural, historical, and social issues.
• Publish research findings in recognised academic journals.
• Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars.
• Participate in academic collaborations and research networks.
• Contribute to knowledge preservation and cultural documentation.

• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
• Guide students in research methodology and academic writing.
• Mentor students interested in cultural studies and heritage research.
• Support students facing academic and non-academic challenges.
• Refer students requiring additional support to appropriate university services.

• Perform departmental administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department.
• Participate in curriculum development and review.
• Attend departmental and faculty meetings.
• Support quality assurance activities.
• Contribute to academic programme improvement.

• Participate in community outreach programmes.
• Support cultural preservation initiatives.
• Promote appreciation of Uganda’s cultural diversity.

Required Qualifications

• An earned PhD in Culture & Heritage Studies or a related field.
• A Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution.

Experience Requirements
