IT Audit & Systems Security Officer
Job Purpose
The role is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and improving the performance and security of the SACCO’s information systems. It ensures strong IT controls, cybersecurity protection, data integrity, and compliance with regulatory and internal policies while supporting efficient digital operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and monitor IT systems, controls, and digital infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency
- Conduct IT audits and reviews to assess system risks, weaknesses, and compliance gaps
- Strengthen cybersecurity controls to protect organizational data and systems from threats
- Monitor and support implementation of ICT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Identify system vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions and improvements
- Support data integrity, backup systems, and disaster recovery planning
- Prepare audit reports, findings, and recommendations for management decision-making
- Ensure compliance with ICT regulations, internal controls, and industry standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in IT audit, systems security, or ICT risk management
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, databases, and IT controls
- Experience working in banking, SACCO, or financial systems is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
Professional Certifications (Added Advantage)
- CISA
- CIA
- CISSP
- CEH
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
- COBIT Certification
