Job Summary

VINCI Energies is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Commissioning Supervisor to oversee instrumentation commissioning activities and ensure that equipment and control systems are safely tested, verified, and brought into operation.
The successful candidate will supervise field instrumentation commissioning activities, coordinate contractors and operations teams, support start-up activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications, procedures, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Role Overview

The Instrumentation Commissioning Supervisor will provide technical leadership during the commissioning phase of industrial and energy projects.
The role involves managing instrumentation testing activities, verifying calibration and functionality of field instruments, reviewing commissioning documentation, and ensuring reliable operation of instrumentation and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Instrumentation Commissioning Supervision
  • Supervise commissioning activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure all instrumentation works comply with project specifications, standards, and approved procedures.
  • Coordinate field commissioning activities with contractors, engineering teams, and operations personnel.
  • Monitor commissioning progress, performance, and completion milestones.
  • Support project start-up activities and technical troubleshooting.
Testing, Calibration and Verification
  • Perform loop checking and calibration verification activities.
  • Supervise instrument functional testing.
  • Support commissioning of:
    • Pressure instrumentation.
    • Temperature instrumentation.
    • Flow measurement systems.
    • Analytical instrumentation.
    • Control and automation devices.
  • Validate test records, commissioning reports, and technical dossiers.
  • Ensure all instrumentation systems are ready for safe operation.

Project Coordination Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily field commissioning activities.
  • Work closely with construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Identify technical challenges and provide effective solutions.
  • Support smooth handover of completed systems.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of commissioning status and progress.

Training and Workforce Development

  • Support development of local technical teams.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced personnel.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best commissioning practices.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce project HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct field safety inspections.
  • Ensure risk assessment and mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture during all commissioning activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Degree or Technical Diploma in:
    • Instrumentation Engineering.
    • Automation Engineering.
    • Control Systems Engineering.
    • Related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of instrumentation commissioning experience.
  • Experience working in:
    • Oil & Gas facilities.
    • Pipeline projects.
    • Industrial energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Field instrumentation systems.
    • Control systems.
    • Calibration procedures.
    • Loop checking.
    • Commissioning procedures.
    • Instrument testing and troubleshooting.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong instrumentation and automation knowledge.
  • Excellent commissioning supervision skills.
  • Ability to manage contractors and technical teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Good understanding of industrial safety standards.
