As part of its continued expansion, Twyford International Uganda is seeking a skilled and experienced General Ledger Financial Supervisor to oversee financial accounting operations, ensure accurate reporting, maintain compliance, and support the development of strong financial systems.

Job Summary

The General Ledger Financial Supervisor will oversee all General Ledger (GL) accounting activities, ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
The successful candidate will supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, review financial reconciliations, support statutory compliance, strengthen internal controls, and guide the finance team towards achieving operational excellence.
This role is suitable for professionals with experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, manufacturing finance, audit preparation, tax compliance, reconciliations, and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Ledger Operations Management
  • Supervise all General Ledger accounting activities.
  • Review and approve journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure proper classification and reporting.
2. Financial Reconciliation and Reporting
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.

4. Tax and Statutory Compliance
  • Support preparation and submission of statutory obligations including:
    • VAT returns
    • Withholding tax returns
    • NSSF/NAPSA obligations
    • Other regulatory financial submissions
  • Ensure accuracy and timely filing of statutory reports.
  • Maintain compliance with Uganda tax regulations.
5. Internal Controls Improvement
  • Strengthen financial control procedures.
  • Ensure proper approval processes are followed.
  • Improve documentation and reporting systems.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes.
6. Finance Team Supervision
  • Supervise and support finance team members.
  • Allocate accounting tasks and monitor deadlines.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior finance staff.
