JOB SUMMARY

Questpro Women Foundation is seeking qualified, detail-oriented freelance document translators to translate written materials from English into various Ugandan local languages. The role supports accurate communication of information across multiple communities and promotes inclusive access to written content in over 40+ local languages.
This is a remote freelance opportunity ideal for linguistically skilled individuals with strong written translation ability.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Freelance Translators will be responsible for translating written documents and communication materials from English into selected Ugandan local languages. The role requires accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and consistency in meaning while ensuring clarity and professionalism in all translated content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate written documents from English into assigned local languages
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance of translations
  • Maintain consistency in terminology and meaning across documents
  • Proofread and edit translated content for quality assurance
  • Work with deadlines and deliver assignments on time
  • Preserve the original tone and intent of source materials
  • Support translation of educational, informational, and organisational content
  • Collaborate with project teams when clarification is needed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Fluency in English and at least one Ugandan local language
  • Strong written communication and translation skills
  • Prior experience in translation is an added advantage
  • Open to young women aged 18–40 years
  • Ugandan citizenship required
