Enrolled Nurse (Male) Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessment and clinical triage.
• Record vital signs and monitor patient health conditions.
• Provide quality nursing care according to established medical guidelines.
• Support patient treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Identify urgent medical conditions and escalate appropriately to doctors or clinical officers.

• Assist doctors and clinical officers during medical procedures.
• Perform wound dressing and basic nursing procedures.
• Provide emergency stabilization support when required.
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Maintain accurate patient care records and nursing documentation.

• Support proper dispensing and administration of medications as directed.
• Manage clinic medication stocks and supplies.
• Ensure proper storage of medicines, vaccines, and biological products.
• Maintain accurate medication dispensing records and inventory logs.
• Monitor expiry dates and report stock shortages promptly.

• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control within the healthcare facility.
• Follow proper hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Ensure clinical areas are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
• Promote patient safety and compliance with healthcare protocols.

• Provide compassionate and professional care to patients.
• Educate patients on treatment procedures and health practices.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, clinical officers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in daily clinical activities and facility operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Certificate in Enrolled Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a busy medical centre, hospital, or healthcare facility.
• Experience working in outpatient clinics or high patient-volume environments is highly desirable.
