Aldelia is inviting applications from experienced and qualified professionals for the position of Cost Controller (EI/Ops). This is a full-time opportunity based in Kampala, Uganda, offering the chance to contribute to major engineering and energy projects through effective project cost management, financial reporting, and budget control.
The successful candidate will support the Project Cost Controller in coordinating and monitoring project cost control activities, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost reporting, expenditure tracking, and financial compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
 Job Summary
As a Cost Controller (EI/Ops), you will be responsible for supporting project budgeting, cost forecasting, invoice management, expenditure monitoring, contractor cost reviews, and financial reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working on large engineering, oil and gas, or infrastructure projects.
This position is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in project cost control who are looking to advance their careers within the energy and engineering sector.
 Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
  • Support and coordinate project cost control activities.
  • Prepare, analyze, evaluate, process, and present project budget and cost control information.
  • Collect, verify, and process employee timesheets and contractor records.
  • Process travel expense documentation for project personnel.
  • Register project invoices within the project cost control system.
  • Assist in controlling and updating project commitments and financial records.
  • Participate in preparing project cost estimates and budgets throughout all project phases.
  • Support the preparation of cost reports and financial presentations.
  • Participate in presenting cost-related information to government authorities and project committees.
  • Assist in organizing and presenting subcommittee meetings.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
  • Review contractor cost estimates and validate project costs.
  • Perform cost trend analysis to identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Challenge and verify cost information submitted by project teams and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate cost control documentation and filing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and cost control policies.
  • Support continuous improvement of project cost management processes.
 Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Additional professional qualifications in project controls, finance, or cost management are an added advantage.
 Experience Required
Candidates should have:
  • At least 10 years of experience in project cost control.
  • Experience working on large engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience within an affiliate or multinational environment is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and project cost control processes.
  • Experience in upstream oil and gas, midstream operations, LNG, refining, or petrochemical industries.
  • Experience preparing project budgets, financial forecasts, and expenditure reports.
  • Knowledge of contractor cost evaluation and invoice management.
