Job Summary

The Community Animator will be responsible for mobilizing and engaging community members, promoting the foundation’s programmes, identifying community needs, and supporting the successful implementation of community development initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with local leaders, community groups, and project teams to strengthen community participation and contribute to the achievement of the foundation's mission.

Key Responsibilities

Community Mobilization
  • Mobilize and engage community members in foundation programmes.
  • Encourage community participation in development initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
  • Promote awareness of the foundation's projects and activities.
Programme Promotion
  • Promote the foundation’s programmes and initiatives within target communities.
  • Educate community members about available opportunities and services.
  • Support community outreach and awareness campaigns.
  • Encourage community ownership of development programmes.
Community Needs Assessment
  • Identify community needs and development opportunities.
  • Collect community feedback to improve programme implementation.
  • Support assessments and community surveys.
  • Report emerging community issues to supervisors.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with local leaders, community groups, and partners.
  • Support collaboration between the foundation and community stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization professionally during community engagements.
  • Build positive relationships that strengthen programme delivery.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare activity reports for supervisors.
  • Monitor and report programme progress and community impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of community activities.
  • Document success stories and lessons learned where required.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (Senior Six) or a Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Additional training in community development, social work, education, or related disciplines is an added advantage.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in community mobilization, outreach, or development programmes is an added advantage.
  • Fresh applicants with a passion for community development are encouraged to apply.
