The project supports children and families in refugee settlements and host communities in northern Uganda.
BRAC Uganda is seeking a qualified Branch Manager to provide leadership, supervision, and coordination for project implementation at branch level.

Job Summary

The Branch Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for BRAC’s branch-level activities under the SPLASH Project.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Branch Manager will supervise Project Officers, coordinate programme implementation, manage resources, engage stakeholders, monitor performance, and ensure quality delivery of project activities.
The role requires strong leadership, community engagement, budgeting, safeguarding knowledge, and experience managing integrated development programmes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Planning and Implementation
  • Lead planning and implementation of all branch-level project activities.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of:
    • Health interventions.
    • SEND inclusion activities.
    • Early Childhood Development programmes.
    • School transition initiatives.
    • Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
  • Develop branch work plans with clear targets and timelines.
  • Track programme progress and address implementation challenges.
2. Community Engagement and Coordination
  • Support community mapping activities.
  • Identify and support selection of:
    • ECD centres.
    • Government primary schools.
    • Programme participants.
  • Coordinate with:
    • Local government authorities.
    • Community leaders.
    • Development partners.
    • Other stakeholders.
  • Represent BRAC at settlement-level coordination meetings.
3. Team Leadership and Supervision
  • Supervise and support:
    • Project Officers.
    • Community Facilitators.
    • Field teams.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance.
  • Monitor staff performance against programme objectives.
  • Build a motivated and high-performing project team.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings.
4. Budget and Resource Management
  • Oversee branch-level budgets.
  • Ensure proper utilisation of project funds.
  • Review and approve expenditures according to BRAC procedures.
  • Manage project assets and logistics.
  • Support procurement and operational planning.
5. Monitoring, Reporting and Data Management
  • Review and validate reports submitted by field teams.
  • Monitor programme indicators and targets.
  • Ensure quality data collection and reporting.
  • Use programme data to support decision-making.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements.
6. Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with:
    • District Local Governments.
    • Community stakeholders.
    • Partners.
    • Programme beneficiaries.
  • Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.
  • Represent BRAC professionally within assigned areas.
7. Field Supervision and Quality Assurance
  • Conduct regular field visits.
  • Carry out supervision and spot checks.
  • Monitor programme quality and compliance.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
8. Safeguarding and Child Protection
The Branch Manager will ensure:
  • Implementation of safeguarding policies.
  • Protection of children and vulnerable participants.
  • Safe working environments.
  • Proper reporting of safeguarding concerns.
  • Compliance with:
    • Safeguarding policies.
    • Fraud prevention procedures.
    • Financial policies.
    • Human Resource policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in humanitarian settings is an added advantage.
