JOB SUMMARY
M-KOPA Uganda is hiring a Telesales Representative – Outbound (Customer Retention Team) to drive sales growth by contacting existing customers and introducing additional M-KOPA products such as smartphones, solar systems, and cash loans. This role is not cold calling; it focuses on building warm, trust-based relationships with customers who already use M-KOPA products. You will be the voice that connects customers to life-changing opportunities, using consultative selling to match real needs with real solutions while supporting financial inclusion across Africa.
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (SALES, ENGAGEMENT & PERFORMANCE)
Drive sales growth by proactively introducing and selling additional M-KOPA products to existing customers, implement effective sales techniques to achieve and exceed campaign conversion and sales goals, identify customer needs and match them with suitable solutions, and consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster long-term loyalty, handle inquiries, concerns, and objections professionally, and turn hesitation into confidence. Create helpful, consultative conversations rather than pushy sales interactions, follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities. Maintain high call quality standards by delivering accurate product information, ensuring every interaction reflects M-KOPA values, adapting communication style to customer personality, and balancing quality with efficiency. Accurately record customer interactions in CRM systems, provide feedback to team leads on campaign performance and customer insights, and support continuous team improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 2+ years in a corporate environment, experience in BPO or call center industry preferred, proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, and experience with outbound calling campaigns is an advantage. Strong proficiency in MS Excel and CRM systems is required, along with excellent presentation, coaching, and people skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly, active listening skills to understand customer needs beyond surface objections, persuasion skills that feel natural and not forced, resilience and positive attitude to handle rejection, time management skills to balance call volume and quality, result-oriented mindset focused on disciplined execution of targets, high ethics and integrity in selling by helping rather than misleading, adaptability to changing campaigns and products, curiosity about customer needs, and a strong team-player mentality that supports collective success. You must also be comfortable working in a performance-driven environment with metrics and targets.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In 3 months: confidently handling outbound calls, meeting call volume expectations, achieving sales targets, and receiving strong quality scores.
In 6 months: consistently exceeding sales targets, building strong customer relationships, and supporting new team members.
In 12 months: becoming a top performer, ranking among the best in the team, and being considered for team lead opportunities while contributing ideas that improve team performance.
