Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Uganda is hiring a Partnership Finance Specialist for remote support to DRC Sudan operations.
The Role Purpose
The Partnership Finance Specialist will oversee and stabilize finance and partnership systems, ensuring strong compliance, accurate reporting, and effective financial management across all local partners.
The role focuses on donor compliance, partner financial capacity building, and system strengthening, with occasional travel for audits and critical support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Partnership Financial Management & Compliance
  • Provide remote oversight of all partner financial operations
  • Ensure full compliance with donor and DRC financial requirements
  • Review and validate partner financial reports and reconciliations
  • Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions
  • Guide partners on donor rules (ECHO, BHA, EU, SIDA, GIZ, UN agencies)
Strengthening Financial Systems
  • Diagnose gaps in partner financial systems and workflows
  • Improve reporting templates, cashbooks, and archiving systems
  • Strengthen financial processes in DRC Dynamics (DYN ERP system)
  • Standardize partner finance procedures for long-term sustainability
Field & Partner Support
  • Conduct virtual training and coaching sessions for partner finance teams
  • Provide remote and on-site support during audits and investigations
  • Strengthen partner financial capacity through continuous mentorship
Financial Reporting & Audit Support
  • Ensure accuracy and reconciliation of partner financial data
  • Support audit preparation and documentation
  • Improve audit trails and compliance verification systems
  • Respond to audit queries and ensure readiness at all times
Coordination & Strategic Support
  • Provide weekly financial updates and risk reports
  • Collaborate with grants, programs, and partnership teams
  • Participate in donor meetings and coordination forums
  • Support decision-making through financial insights and analysis
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in NGO financial management
  • Strong experience in partnership financial oversight
  • Experience in emergency or complex humanitarian settings
  • Strong knowledge of donor compliance (ECHO, BHA, EU, SIDA, GIZ, UN)
  • Experience using ERP systems (DRC Dynamics preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work remotely and manage field teams
  • High integrity and ethical standards
