Diageo is hiring for a Commercial Demand Manager role (EABL Uganda).
Reports To
Head of Commercial Operations
Function
Sales & Commercial Operations
About the Role
This role sits within the commercial division and supports the development and execution of EABL Uganda’s short-, medium-, and long-term commercial strategy.
It focuses on driving trade strategy, operational excellence, forecasting, and performance management across retail outlets and distributors.
The role also works closely with commercial leadership to generate insights, implement strategies, and deliver business growth.
Role Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Execution
  • Support development and execution of commercial strategy aligned to business goals
  • Evaluate strategic options and ensure optimal commercial decisions
  • Drive implementation of sales and trade initiatives
  • Support sales leadership in delivering operational commitments
Order to Cash (OTC) Management
  • Lead the Order to Cash cycle ensuring smooth customer experience
  • Ensure orders are delivered On Time In Full No Errors (OTIFNE)
  • Drive adoption of digital/web ordering systems
  • Improve efficiency of sales and distribution processes
Planning & Forecasting
  • Drive cross-functional planning and forecasting processes
  • Support accurate commercial forecasting and demand planning
  • Collaborate with finance, logistics, and supply chain teams
Data & Analytics
  • Design performance measurement systems for key business metrics
  • Analyze commercial data and generate actionable insights
  • Ensure data quality and governance standards are maintained
Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering
  • Work with Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) and key stakeholders
  • Communicate and implement strategic commercial initiatives
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and high-value business actions
  • Support resolution of high-value commercial issues
Performance Management & Change Leadership
  • Define performance routines and tracking systems
  • Drive commercial performance against targets
  • Support change management and continuous improvement
  • Mentor and develop team capability across commercial functions
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Strong academic background
  • 6–8 years’ FMCG experience (sales operations, management, or analytics)
  • Strong understanding of field sales and commercial operations
  • Experience in strategy development and implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Strong project and change management capability
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
