Job Summary
The Country Administrator provides overall leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight for Samaritan’s Purse operations in Uganda. The role supports multiple programs including the Children’s Heart Project, Mission Aviation Services, and regional procurement functions while ensuring effective collaboration with field offices in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The position combines operational leadership, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and spiritual leadership within the organization’s Christian mission framework.
Key Responsibilities
Country Leadership & Administration
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Samaritan’s Purse operations in Uganda.
  • Provide overall administrative and operational oversight for country programs.
  • Support field offices and regional initiatives in South Sudan and DRC.
  • Develop and implement work plans and operational systems.
Program Support & Coordination
  • Support Children’s Heart Project and Mission Aviation Services operations.
  • Coordinate procurement and administrative needs across programs.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of program support services.
  • Collaborate with program directors and regional leadership teams.
Representation & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Represent Samaritan’s Purse in engagements with government officials, NGOs, donors, hospitals, financial institutions, churches, and partners.
  • Maintain strong external relationships to support program implementation.
  • Liaise with legal, financial, and medical stakeholders as required.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to staff.
  • Foster strong team communication, collaboration, and morale.
  • Lead morning devotions and support the organization’s faith-based mission.
  • Promote a positive and values-driven workplace culture.
Security & Risk Management
  • Work closely with the Regional Security Manager.
  • Monitor security conditions and respond to emerging risks.
  • Ensure staff safety and operational continuity.
General Duties
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Maintain efficient administrative systems and problem-solving processes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • At least 5 years of management or leadership experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong skills in planning, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring ability.
  • Willingness to engage in faith-based organizational mission.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete upon hire).
