STOCK CONTROLLER
Job Title: Stock Controller
Reports To: Inventory Team Lead
Job Purpose
To oversee receipt, issue, and recording of inventory items and stock movement to maintain adherence to established controls while ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and record all stock of Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and other production inputs.
  • Issue materials to the respective usage centers as per authorized stock requisitions.
  • Ensure safe custody and proper storage of all stock items received.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security within the stores.
  • Work closely with the Production Department to ensure the correct quantity and specification of materials are delivered.
  • Place materials in designated storage locations according to usage requirements.
  • Ensure all materials not part of ongoing production are removed from the production floor and returned to stores for safekeeping.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all stock movements in and out of stores.
  • Maintain and update stock records accurately on a daily basis.
  • Notify the Stores Supervisor of replenishment requirements when necessary.
  • Coordinate stock transfers between various locations as instructed by the Stores Supervisor.
  • Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure materials received meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Oversee stock movement and accountability at off-site stores, including Namanve and Busunju.
  • Conduct periodic stock counts, stock verification, and reconciliations.
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of Material Loaders.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors from time to time.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Statistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Computing, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in storage, inventory management, material handling, and distribution within a busy operational environment.
