Billing Quality Officer – C-Care Uganda

• Review inpatient bills for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved rates.
• Ensure billed services align with patient charts, physician orders, and nursing records.
• Identify and correct billing errors such as duplicates, omissions, or incorrect charges.
• Maintain structured bill review checklists for audit readiness.

• Act as liaison between billing officers, clinicians, and nurses.
• Ensure all clinical services are properly documented and billed.
• Clarify discrepancies in clinical notes and documentation.
• Support billing teams through mentorship and guidance.
• Participate in ward rounds and patient file reviews when necessary.

• Review and approve credit memos and billing adjustments.
• Ensure all adjustments comply with hospital billing policies.
• Maintain records of recurring billing issues and recommend corrective actions.

• Verify completeness of patient billing before discharge.
• Ensure all procedures, investigations, and medications are fully captured.
• Coordinate with clinical and finance teams for final bill approval.

• Supervise submission of bills to insurers and vetting systems.
• Track rejected or queried claims and analyze root causes.
• Maintain claims quality logs and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, payer, and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure adherence to billing and financial governance policies.
• Prepare reports on billing accuracy, error rates, and claim rejections.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement meetings, and reviews.
• Recommend improvements to billing and documentation systems.

• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related field.
• Additional training in Finance or Business is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in:
  • Hospital billing
  • Health insurance vetting
  • Revenue assurance or related healthcare finance roles
