Job Summary
Stanbic Bank Uganda is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead branch operations, drive business growth, and deliver exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing branch business plans, managing branch operations, driving sales performance, and strengthening customer relationships within identified local market ecosystems.
The role requires strong leadership capabilities, banking expertise, business development skills, and a commitment to operational excellence, risk management, and customer-centric service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Business Growth & Market Development
  • Develop and execute a branch business plan aligned with local market opportunities and targeted ecosystems.
  • Gain a deep understanding of business segments within the branch's area of operation.
  • Prepare and implement the branch business development plan based on identified market opportunities and emerging ecosystems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers within the branch's market.
  • Lead multi-functional customer visits in line with Branch Local Market Initiative plans.
Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Deliver financial targets and agreed sales activities in line with branch business objectives.
  • Drive a high-performance sales culture focused on customer needs and sustainable business growth.
  • Coach and support branch teams in identifying customer needs and providing appropriate banking solutions.
  • Monitor branch performance and implement strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
Customer Experience & Service Excellence
  • Promote a customer-centric culture focused on delivering exceptional banking experiences.
  • Resolve customer complaints and queries within established service timelines.
  • Ensure customers are treated fairly and in accordance with financial consumer protection guidelines.
  • Create a welcoming branch environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
Branch Operations & Risk Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of branch operations.
  • Effectively manage branch resources, including employees, systems, and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, banking regulations, and risk management frameworks.
  • Monitor and maintain effective internal controls to manage operational and compliance risks.
  • Support the implementation of governance and regulatory requirements within the branch.
Qualifications
  • First Degree in:
    • Business Administration
    • Commerce
    • Economics
    • Or any related business discipline
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA are an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' banking experience, including branch banking operations.
  • Experience managing branch profitability, income statements, sales, and customer service functions.
  • Proven track record in financial sales, relationship management, and service delivery.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role leading diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving business growth and operational targets.
