LOCATION
Kampala, Uganda (with travel within Uganda)
JOB PURPOSE
The DFCD Business Development Advisor supports the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of DFCD-supported projects in Uganda. The role ensures effective delivery of climate finance and biodiversity-related activities while strengthening partnerships, technical assistance delivery, and integration of green finance into WWF Uganda programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION & MONITORING
  • Coordinate implementation of DFCD-supported projects in line with workplans and timelines.
  • Track project progress, identify delays, risks, and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking systems (e.g., Monday.com, SharePoint).
  • Support partner organizations in delivering agreed outputs.
  • Prepare internal and donor progress updates and reports.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TA) COORDINATION
  • Coordinate WWF-led technical assistance activities in biodiversity, GIS, and indigenous peoples mapping.
  • Work with consultants, WWF teams, and partners to implement TA activities.
  • Support field-based implementation and community engagement.
  • Track budgets, timelines, and outputs for technical assistance projects.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & FIELD COORDINATION
  • Engage WWF teams, local communities, and external partners in project delivery.
  • Provide technical backstopping and coordination support to field teams.
  • Ensure alignment between field activities and project objectives.
  • Support capacity building and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
GREEN FINANCE & STRATEGIC SUPPORT
  • Support integration of climate and nature-based solutions into WWF Uganda programmes.
  • Contribute to development of green finance and climate finance initiatives.
  • Support identification of funding opportunities and project concepts.
  • Collaborate with internal WWF teams on resource mobilization.
REPORTING, MONITORING & EVALUATION
  • Prepare timely project reports for WWF Uganda and DFCD partners.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities.
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to internal coordination processes.
  • Support budgeting, workplans, and reporting systems.
INTERNAL COORDINATION & SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate across WWF Uganda teams and DFCD regional structures.
  • Manage project tracking tools and reporting systems.
  • Contribute to alignment of DFCD activities with WWF Uganda strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Environmental Management, Agriculture, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
  • 8–10 years of professional experience.
  • 3–5 years in climate finance, biodiversity finance, ecosystem management, or development programmes.
  • Experience in project implementation and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exposure to private sector engagement and development finance is an advantage.
  • Experience with GIS or landscape-level projects is desirable.
