NEW BUSINESS HUNTER – DHL EXPRESS

Role Purpose
As a New Business Hunter at DHL Express, you will drive business growth by acquiring new customers in the heavier-weight express segment (30–1000 kg shipments). You will identify, develop, and close opportunities with clients requiring reliable, time-definite international logistics solutions.
This role requires a results-driven sales professional with strong experience in airfreight/logistics and a passion for winning new business while delivering DHL’s “Insanely Customer Centric” culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Business Acquisition
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in heavy-weight express shipments
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting and networking
  • Conduct customer needs analysis and provide tailored logistics solutions
  • Negotiate and close profitable business deals
  • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth onboarding
  • Work with DHL Group business units to maximize opportunities
2. Market Development & Strategy
  • Research market trends, industries, and competitor activity
  • Target key sectors such as industrial, automotive, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare
  • Position DHL Express as a preferred logistics provider
  • Provide feedback to product, pricing, and marketing teams
3. Customer Relationship Management
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers
  • Leverage professional networks to generate business opportunities
  • Ensure smooth transition to account management teams
  • Maintain high customer service standards
4. Sales Performance & Reporting
  • Achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Maintain accurate CRM records (COMET/STELLAR)
  • Provide sales forecasts and performance reports
Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience
  • 3–5 years’ experience in B2B sales (logistics, air freight, or transport)
  • Proven ability to win and grow new business accounts
  • Experience in heavy-weight or time-definite air freight is an advantage
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of international logistics and cross-border trade
  • Knowledge of customs processes
  • Familiarity with DHL Express services (TDI, TDD) is an advantage
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and networking skills
  • Results-driven and target-oriented mindset
