Locations: Bulambuli District & Amuria District
Reports To: Associate Field Manager
Job Type: Short-Term Contract (5 Months)

Job Summary
The Field Officer will support GiveDirectly’s cash transfer operations through community engagement, household surveys, recipient registration, follow-up activities, and problem resolution in the field.
The successful candidate will work directly with vulnerable communities and help ensure accurate implementation of GiveDirectly’s programs.
Key Responsibilities
Census Team Duties
  • Conduct village barazas and explain the program to communities
  • Meet village leaders and guides
  • Visit households and complete census surveys
  • Collect accurate data using digital tools
Registration Team Duties
  • Support recipient registration processes
  • Distribute phones where necessary
  • Verify eligible households
  • Explain transfer safety and readiness procedures
  • Conduct digital registration surveys
Follow-Up Team Duties
  • Conduct follow-up surveys and recipient visits
  • Handle hotline calls and recipient concerns
  • Support mobile money registration corrections
  • Report and escalate adverse events and complaints
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Experience
  • At least 1 year of humanitarian sector experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities
Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of CommCare, Salesforce, Google Suite, or related digital tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, honesty, and integrity
  • Ability to work in difficult field conditions
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
Language Requirements
  • Lumasaba for Bulambuli applicants
  • Ateso for Amuria applicants
Additional Information
  • This is a field-based role
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis
  • Physical fitness and willingness to travel are required
