Job Summary
The Community Mobilizer I will provide child protection case management services for children who are vulnerable or at risk of violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and child labour in selected coffee farming communities in the Greater Masaka region.
The role involves community engagement, psychosocial support, referrals, case follow-up, stakeholder coordination, and supporting implementation of the Child Rights Monitoring and Remediation System.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management for Children and Families
  • Provide quality child protection case management services
  • Conduct child identification, assessment, case planning, follow-up, and closure
  • Support vulnerable children and families throughout the protection process
  • Offer psychosocial support services
  • Conduct referrals for specialized support services
  • Maintain proper case records and reporting documentation
Community Coordination
  • Work closely with community para-social workers and local stakeholders
  • Coordinate with NGO partners and government institutions
  • Maintain updated referral pathways and service provider mapping
  • Participate in multi-sectoral case conferences and discussions
Team Collaboration
  • Participate in training and professional development activities
  • Attend regular case management meetings
  • Engage in supervision and mentorship sessions
  • Identify challenges and areas for improvement
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration or related field
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children
  • Experience in community development or NGO work preferred
  • Experience in child protection case management is an added advantage
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
  • Good stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy and digital tool proficiency
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel regularly across project sites
