Job Summary
Biyinzika Poultry International Limited is hiring a Kampala Distribution Centre Supervisor responsible for managing cold-chain distribution operations, ensuring efficient dispatch of dressed chicken, maintaining product quality, and overseeing stock control at the Kampala Distribution Centre.
Job Details

  • Reports To: Commercial and Logistics Manager
  • Duty Station: Kampala
  • Direct Reports: Dispatch Officers, Loaders, Cleaners, Casual Labourers
Job Purpose
To ensure efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of dressed chicken while maintaining strict cold-chain compliance, product integrity, and high customer service standards to support sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch & Operations
  • Oversee daily dispatch of dressed chicken to shops and customers
  • Coordinate order preparation to match invoices and customer requirements
  • Supervise loading/unloading while maintaining cold-room temperatures (-18°C to 0°C)
Stock & Inventory Control
  • Conduct daily and weekly stock counts and reconcile with ERP systems (Business Central / NavOne)
  • Manage FIFO (First In, First Out) product rotation to reduce losses
  • Monitor stock movements, drip loss, and product returns
Cold Chain & Quality Control
  • Ensure vehicle hygiene, crate handling, and food safety compliance
  • Monitor cold-room and truck temperature logs
  • Coordinate cleaning, fumigation, and sanitation schedules
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance teams on corrective actions
Reporting & Coordination
  • Prepare daily reports on dispatch, stock variance, drip loss, and vehicle performance
  • Track Order Fulfilment (OF) and On-Time Delivery (OD) metrics
  • Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams
People & Compliance
  • Supervise and train staff on hygiene and handling procedures
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
  • Investigate and report stock or crate variances
Financial Responsibility
  • Control dispatch-related operational costs
  • Reduce stock losses and expiries
  • Ensure efficient use of labour, transport, and company assets
Requirements
Education
  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years in cold-chain distribution (poultry, meat, or FMCG preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Business Central, NavOne) and MS Excel
Skills
  • Strong leadership and team coordination
  • Knowledge of cold storage operations and food safety standards
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and under pressure
