JOB VACANCY: INSTRUMENTATION / QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN

JOB PURPOSE
The role is responsible for implementing, managing, and executing asset care routines to ensure high performance, reliability, and availability of quality assurance instrumentation systems. The position supports production by ensuring consistent product quality and optimal equipment performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ASSET CARE & EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY
  • Implement asset care routines for quality instrumentation
  • Ensure reliability and availability of QA equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Identify and mitigate equipment failure risks
  • Ensure proper calibration and validation of instruments
2. QUALITY ASSURANCE & PROCESS CONTROL
  • Drive consistent product quality through source ownership
  • Monitor process inputs and outputs affecting quality
  • Apply Quality Focused Requirements (QFRs) and reaction plans
  • Support troubleshooting of production quality deviations
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards
3. PROBLEM SOLVING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
  • Conduct root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys)
  • Use structured problem-solving tools and reports (AB reports)
  • Evaluate corrective actions for effectiveness
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (VPO principles)
4. PROJECT & SYSTEMS SUPPORT
  • Support CAPEX and instrumentation upgrade projects
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new systems
  • Ensure proper documentation and system knowledge transfer
  • Use digital tools for monitoring and reporting
5. TRAINING & CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT
  • Train frontline staff on QFRs and equipment use
  • Support development of autonomous operational teams
  • Complete technical competency programs (SKAP compliance)
6. OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Apply VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) principles
  • Support achievement of plant performance targets
  • Use structured performance tracking tools
7. SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
  • Follow safe working procedures for instrumentation systems
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
8. COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION
  • Work with production, engineering, and quality teams
  • Report equipment status and risks
  • Support audits, inspections, and technical reviews
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • N3 / National Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in instrumentation, electrical, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in FMCG industry is an advantage
KEY SKILLS
  • Instrumentation and electrical maintenance
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Understanding of manufacturing process control
  • Knowledge of quality systems (QFRs, VPO, SKAP)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
