Job Summary

The Senior Digital Content Producer will originate, film, edit, produce, and present high-quality digital journalism designed for online audiences.
The successful candidate will create engaging visual stories, identify underreported issues, support breaking news coverage, and produce innovative multimedia content that attracts younger, digitally connected audiences.
The role requires a creative journalist with strong editorial judgement, video production expertise, storytelling ability, and a deep understanding of digital media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Produce High-Quality Digital Journalism
  • Research, develop, and produce accurate, engaging, and impartial news content.
  • Create digital-first stories optimised for mobile and social media platforms.
  • Produce compelling visual journalism that reflects BBC editorial standards.
  • Ensure all content is timely, factual, and audience-focused.
2. Video Production and Storytelling
  • Film, edit, and produce high-quality video content.
  • Capture footage suitable for multiple digital platforms.
  • Produce stories using vertical, square, and horizontal formats.
  • Deliver visually engaging content that captures audience attention within the first few seconds.
3. Story Development
  • Identify original and underreported stories.
  • Develop creative story angles that differentiate BBC content.
  • Monitor emerging trends and audience interests.
  • Generate ideas that increase audience engagement.
4. Breaking News Coverage
  • Respond quickly to breaking news events.
  • Produce accurate content under tight deadlines.
