To strengthen its operations, the company is recruiting a qualified Purchaser to support sourcing, supplier management, and inventory control functions.
Position Overview
The Purchaser will be responsible for managing procurement activities from sourcing to delivery. This includes negotiating with suppliers, preparing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with company procurement procedures.
The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively while ensuring cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement and Sourcing
- Source spare parts, equipment, and consumables
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery conditions
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- Identify alternative suppliers for cost efficiency
Supplier Management
- Maintain strong supplier relationships
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly
- Resolve procurement and delivery issues
- Update and maintain supplier records
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and procurement needs
- Coordinate with stores and operations teams
- Support stock replenishment planning
- Participate in stock audits and reconciliations
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure procurement follows company policies
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation
- Prepare procurement and supplier reports
- Support audit processes with required records
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain roles
- Experience in automotive, engineering, construction, or heavy equipment sectors is preferred
- Experience with imports and international suppliers is an advantage
