About Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA)

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is a government regulatory institution established under the PPDA Act Cap 205 to develop standards, regulate, and monitor procurement and disposal practices across Uganda.
PPDA oversees procurement activities within Central Government Ministries and Departments, Local Governments, State Enterprises, Constitutional and Statutory Bodies, and post-primary training institutions. The Authority promotes transparency, accountability, efficiency, and value for money in public procurement processes.
PPDA is seeking a highly motivated and talented Graduate Trainee Finance to support the Finance Department by performing assigned accounting and financial management duties while gaining practical professional experience in a public sector finance environment.
Applicants must have graduated not earlier than 2025 and must be below 26 years of age at the time of application.

Job Summary

The Graduate Trainee Finance will support the Finance team in implementing financial operations and completing assigned finance-related tasks accurately and on time.
The role provides an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical experience in financial processing, asset management, financial reporting, and accounting procedures within a government institution.
The successful candidate will assist with payment processing, financial data capture, preparation of financial statements, and other finance assignments under the guidance of experienced finance professionals.
The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background in Accounting or Finance, good communication skills, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations Support
  • Support the Finance team in processing organisational payments.
  • Assist with reviewing financial documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support timely execution of finance-related activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions.
Asset Management Support
  • Assist in capturing and updating information relating to organisational assets.
  • Support maintenance of accurate asset records.
  • Assist with asset verification and documentation activities.
Financial Reporting Support
  • Assist the Finance team in preparing financial statements.
  • Support collection, organisation, and processing of financial information.
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports and summaries.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records and documentation.
Administrative and Finance Assistance
  • Support daily finance department activities.
  • Assist with filing and record management.
  • Perform data entry and financial information updates.
  • Undertake any other finance assignments as directed by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Must Have
Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in:

Candidates should have achieved either:
  • First Class Honours, or
