Job Summary
Donswift Company Ltd is seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to oversee the planning, utilization, maintenance, and performance management of heavy equipment used in construction projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that machinery, vehicles, and equipment remain available, safe, and efficient to support project timelines. The role requires strong knowledge of heavy equipment management, fleet operations, preventive maintenance, equipment costing, and construction site operations.
The Equipment Manager will work closely with project managers, engineers, mechanics, and operations teams to maximize equipment productivity while reducing downtime and operational costs.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Planning and Management
  • Develop equipment utilization plans to support construction project requirements.
  • Coordinate allocation and deployment of heavy machinery to different project sites.
  • Ensure the availability of equipment according to project schedules and operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, location, condition, and performance.
Maintenance and Repairs Management
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for heavy equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs, servicing, inspections, and equipment overhauls.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify mechanical issues early.
  • Work with maintenance teams and external service providers to resolve equipment problems.
  • Ensure spare parts and maintenance resources are available when required.
Fleet and Asset Management
  • Manage construction equipment assets including excavators, loaders, graders, trucks, cranes, and other machinery.
  • Monitor equipment operating hours, fuel consumption, repair costs, and productivity.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to improve efficiency and reduce operational expenses.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and asset documentation.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and safety checks.
  • Ensure operators follow proper equipment handling procedures.
  • Promote safe working practices on construction sites.
Cost Control and Reporting
  • Monitor equipment operating costs and maintenance expenses.
  • Prepare equipment performance reports for management.
  • Recommend cost-saving strategies and equipment improvement initiatives.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for equipment requirements.
Team Coordination
  • Supervise equipment operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Provide guidance on equipment usage and operational best practices.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to ensure smooth project implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment management, fleet management, or construction equipment operations.
  • Strong experience managing heavy machinery within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance systems and asset management practices.
  • Experience with construction projects, equipment scheduling, and operational planning is highly preferred.
