Job Summary

Raising The Village is recruiting 500 Part-Time Data Collectors to support field-based data collection activities across multiple districts in Uganda. The successful candidates will play an important role in collecting reliable information used for monitoring and evaluation, program design, impact assessments, and organizational planning.
Working under the supervision of the Venn team, Data Collectors will conduct interviews, administer digital questionnaires, verify collected information, and ensure all survey activities are completed according to organizational quality standards and ethical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Attending comprehensive training on survey procedures and digital data collection tools.
• Participating in pre-testing and validation of survey questionnaires before field deployment.
• Obtaining informed consent from community leaders and respondents before interviews.
• Conducting household and community interviews using approved questionnaires.
• Recording responses accurately using tablets and digital data collection applications.
• Following assigned work plans while meeting daily and overall field targets.
• Reviewing completed questionnaires for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
• Cleaning and validating collected data before submission.
• Maintaining respondent confidentiality and complying with organizational data protection standards.
• Safeguarding assigned equipment, including tablets, chargers, power banks, and field bags.
• Submitting completed surveys within the required timelines.
• Collaborating effectively with supervisors and other field staff.
• Performing any additional duties assigned by the Raising The Village Venn team.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in any recognized field.
• Previous experience in data collection, surveys, research, or monitoring activities is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of research methodologies and data quality assurance practices is desirable.
• Good interviewing and probing skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using digital data collection platforms such as SurveyCTO, Survey123, KoboCollect, ODK Collect, or similar applications is an added advantage.
