Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the internal audit team in performing audit procedures according to approved audit programs.
• Support auditors during internal audit assignments.
• Review financial and operational records.
• Assist in evaluating compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Support audit activities for IDI projects and sub-grantees.

• Collect supporting documents required for audit assignments.
• Review financial records, transactions, and supporting evidence.
• Prepare audit working papers.
• Organize and maintain audit files.
• Analyse transaction details and identify areas requiring further review.
• Support preparation of internal audit reports.

• Assist with cash verification exercises.
• Participate in stock counts and inventory checks.
• Support fixed asset verification activities.
• Participate in audit field visits to project locations across Uganda.
• Assist auditors during operational reviews and assessments.
• Document audit findings and observations.

• Participate in internal audit risk assessments.
• Support assessment of potential sub-grantees.
• Assist in identifying operational and financial risks.
• Support evaluation of internal controls.
• Contribute to recommendations for improving compliance.

• Support preparation for audit entry and exit meetings.
• Assist in documenting meeting minutes.
• Track follow-up actions from meetings.
• Support preparation of internal audit team meetings.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting).
• Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance or Accounting).
• Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
• Bachelor of Science in Business Statistics.

Eligibility Requirements

• Have graduated within the last 12 months.
• Have a maximum of one year of work experience.
• Demonstrate interest in internal audit, finance, and compliance.
• Be willing to learn and develop professionally.
